Academic Year 2023-24
All course and major/option/minor proposals are due in the Senate Office on the following dates:

Following the approval of a report (30 days after the report is published), new courses become effective the next semester not yet begun. Changes in existing course offerings and courses being dropped will become effective the first semester that has not yet rolled in LionPath from the previous year, unless written objection is received at the Senate Office and an exception is granted.

- Special topics Inter-domain and Linked courses use following letter suffixes: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, I, J, K

All requests for special topics (one-semester titles) should be submitted to the Senate Office, e-mail univfs@psu.edu, four (4) weeks prior to registration.
All requests for Inter-domain or Linked one-semester offerings should be submitted to the Senate Office, e-mail univfs@psu.edu, six (6) weeks prior to registration.
*The following alpha letters have been reserved for identifying special types of courses:
- A-G,I-K – special topics courses
- H – honors courses or sections
- M – honors and writing intensive courses
- N – inter-domain courses
- Q – inter-domain and honors courses
- S – First-Year Seminar courses
- T – honors and first-year seminar courses
- U – United States cultures and/or international cultures and honors courses
- V – linked and honors courses
- W – writing intensive courses
- X – First-Year Seminar courses and writing-intensive courses
- Y – United States cultures and/or international cultures and writing courses
- Z – Linked courses
*Please note not all courses falling into the above categories carry the suffix on the course.
