Faculty Senate Communications Advisory Group to the Chair

Duties:

The Communications Advisory Group makes recommendations to the Chair of the University Faculty Senate to help improve communication:

• transparency
• clarity
• efficiency
• responsiveness
• accessibility
• consistency

within the Senate membership and to its various constituents, including:

• faculty
• staff
• students
• administrative groups
• and broader communities

Communication categories include, but are not limited to:

• urgent business
• general or routine business
• advice needed by the chair or the senate office
• information gathering
• improving orientations
• feedback on decisions—including closing the loop on previous feedback
  communication between committees and out of committees
• bifurcation of communication—internal and external

This group advises on the management and support of the Senate communication process and makes recommendations to the Chair and to the Senate Office. It also facilitates gathering the information sent to the university community through the Unit Communication Liaisons.
