Request for Exception to Policy 49-60 Pass/Fail Grading System
Students are strongly encouraged to discuss the implications of decisions on Pass/Fail grading with their academic advisers before making their decision. Students who are receiving financial aid are also encouraged to consult with a financial aid adviser on potential impacts to aid eligibility due to grade change selections.
This form should be used to change a grade to or from Pass/Fail grading in the following circumstances:
Short Process Petitions
- Student had a hold on their account due to allegation of Academic Misconduct. After the Pass/Fail selection deadline, student was found to NOT be responsible, so now student wants to change quality letter grade to Pass/Fail grading.
- After the Pass/Fail selection deadline, student declared or changed majors. A quality letter grade is now required, so student wants to change Pass/Fail grading to a quality letter grade.
- After the Pass/Fail selection deadline, student discovered that they need a quality letter grade for meeting entrance to major requirements to declare a major. Now student wants to change Pass/Fail grading to a quality letter grade.
Full Review Process Petitions
- Student had extenuating circumstances that prevented them from selecting Pass/Fail grading before the deadline during the semester petitioned.
